Before I review How to Blog for Profit: Without Selling Your Soul, I want to share a word said by Ruth Soukup.

When it comes to blogging, the problem is with information overload.

To be true, I have read more than 1000 articles about blogging and how blogging can actually earn a living. There are a lot of bloggers and blogging courses who teach us on how to blog. Not to mention, most of them works too.

The problem comes when we actually want to blog and can’t which one to follow. I researched on this for more than 6 months before I actually launched my blog in 2016. Somehow after reading a lot of articles about Elite Blog Academy, I am convinced to trust Ruth Soukup and I am thankful for that.

How to Blog for Profit Without Selling Your Soul

Ruth has divided each aspect of blogging into different groups and she kept in order for a reason. Follow the units in order and create content which readers want to come back for more. She explains how to grow your platform step by step and how to get more relevant traffic.

Ruth will teach you how to create pillar content. She explains how to create compelling content that your readers want to come back for more and more. She explains how important it is to build a loyal readership rather than to have one-time visits. She explains how the presentation is going to play a major role for your blog post to go viral. She says Content is King but Presentation is Queen which needs equal attention for a good blog post.

I highly recommend this book for all beginners. As a beginner, you need to have a specific action plan instead of running here and there. She explains why you need to spend time in creating awesome content for your readers before even thinking about monetizing your blog. This is the biggest urge any new blogger have to suppress. To concentrate more on creating useful content for your bloggers than thinking your blog as a business.

Ruth explains SEO basics and how to use Pinterest for growing your traffic. She explains promoting other bloggers (your favorite bloggers) can also give you some traffic as most blogs have trackback options. As always, if your content is good you always have reshares and comments on your blog.

There are chapters which explain how to start monetizing your blog and reach out for brands. As of now, as a brand new blogger, I am concentrating on creating content. I got enough information, in fact, more than enough for the amount I paid for the book.

The only con I think about this book is, Ruth will not teach you about hosting a website or blog. She doesn’t really talk about any technical stuff like designing your website or installing any plugins that are required for your blog to hit running. But once you host your website, you can start creating content like a boss!
